Stage Makeup Intensive: Horror and Fantasy

Meeting: October 6, 13, 30, 27 from 4:00 - 6:00 

Fee: $100

Instructor: Brianne Tupper

In this four week makeup intensive, students will dive into creating characters for horror, fantasy and face manipulation roles.  We will focus on advanced materials and tools such as foam latex prosthetics, plaster casting and scar wax.  Each class will include live demonstration, hands on classwork and one on one direction.  This class includes materials to experiment with during class, as well as, a small materials kit students will take home and an opportunity to purchase additional materials.  Students are, also,  encouraged to bring materials from home to use during class.

Fee: $85 a person that covers materials used and teaching costs.  

This single session workshop will dive into creating characters for horror, fantasy and gender bending roles. Participants are, also, encouraged to bring materials from home to use during class.

Brianne M Tupper is a visual and theatre arts instructor as well as a freelance artist. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Studio Arts and a certificate in Theatre Studies. Before moving to the Williamsport area Brianne worked for the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Spotlight Costumes. Her designs and artwork have won numerous awards including the A. J. Schneider Award for Excellence in the Arts, the Murl Daniels Makeup Award and the William “Bill” Zauder Award for Outstanding Makeup under the direction of Kim Brown with Spotlight Costumes.

PUPPET MAKING CLASS FOR STUDENTS AND ADULTS

Saturday, February 11th and 18th, 2017 

10:00 - 2:00 both sessions

This two-session class is perfect for students and adults of all ages! Throughout both these sessions you will create construct and learn how to use a puppet of your very own! Learn what actually goes in to your favorite felt friends and bring a friend! If students under the age of 12 register a parent is required to register and participate as well.

Stage Combat with Dan Burke

 

The course was taught by certified Fight Director Dan Burke. Dan's company, "Safe Violence by Dan Burke" strives to keep your actors and audience safe and your violence real! This was an awesome opportunity for both actors and directors that we are looking forward to hosting again! 

More information on Mr. Burke: 

Dan Burke currently serves as Gamut Theatre's resident Fight Director. Dan's company, "Safe Violence by Dan Burke", has choreographed hundreds of fights for theatres from NYC to right here in Central PA. Dan has been certified as an actor/combatant by The Society of American Fight Directors.
